Volvo Trucks – Putting the new Volvo FH with I-Save to the test

This is Volvo FH with I-Save, Volvo Trucks’
most fuel-efficient truck to date. But how do you know that?
Well, ask this guy. He put I-Save to the test on some of the most demanding roads
in the Czech Republic. By combining
the latest hardware and software, Volvo FH with I-Save
can cut fuel costs by up to 7%. In the test,
Vladimir compared a Volvo FH Step D to a Volvo FH with I-Save. Both trucks are equipped
with the latest features included in the long-haul fuel package. The only difference between these two
trucks is therefore the engine. The new D13TC alone
can cut fuel costs by up to 4%. Čestlice-Brno is
one of the most well-known routes for long-haul transport companies
in Central and East Europe. It’s a demanding road
with a lot of ups and downs. In the test, drivers drove all the way
to Brno and back again. When we calculated the results, they were really amazing results
that we delivered. Vladimir says the results were amazing.
Let’s take a look. On a 360-kilometre route, the Volvo FH with I-Save
had 4.7% less diesel consumption. It also had an average speed that was
1.7% higher than the Volvo FH Step D. This means that the D13TC engine
and long-haul fuel package combined exceeded the I-Save promise
of 7% less fuel costs in this test. If we calculate
together with the AdBlue, we can deliver much greater cuts
to customer costs. This truck performs so well, and, in my opinion,
the drivers will love it because it combines a great performance
with very low fuel consumption.
