How To DEEP CLEAN Cloth Car Seats The Right Way And Remove Stains and Dirt

What’s up guys welcome back to stauffer garage today’s video I’m gonna focus on how to clean your cloth interior and kind of show you all the different tools and tips and tricks that I use to get out any stain that you might Encounter now if you are new make sure you guys hit the subscribe button below So you do not miss out on any of the new tutorial and how-to videos that I produce and also you guys can check out All the old ones that I’ve done because I have done some pretty nasty interiors and they’ve turned out amazing So make sure you guys check those out after this video now for any of the tools that I’ll be using all the links will Be in the description box below with all the different products that I’ve talked about in today’s video if you want to check them out And pick them up yourself for your own detailing arsenal. They are there listed for you So like any detail the first step for me is always vacuuming. So let’s go ahead and get right into it When you’re vacuuming make sure you recline the seat and get in between the top and the bottom bolsters Because if you don’t do that and you’re using your extractor later on the water will get into that dirt and then possibly cause additional staining than you originally started with Now it is time to start extracting which my extractor is filled with warm water diluted twenty to one with the full X and when you start your passes do the first pull back pass with the trigger pulled to Inject the fluid and suck it out And then after you’ve completed that first pass go back forward over the past with the Extractor so that way you can do an additional round of suction to get any additional water out of the surface When working on the area between the top and the bottom part of the seat Make sure you spray some of the cleaner into that area first before you use your suction nozzle That way you can make sure that area is saturated before you begin your suction pass Typically on most seats that I’ve done with my type of extractor I usually takes about two passes to get the job done but if you have a more high-end Extractor that might not be the case or if you’re doing spot cleaning You might be getting away with one pass in general from my experience. It usually takes about two passes to get a seat cleaned Probably the most enjoyable part of this is seeing what came out and this just came out of that one seat itself all of that dirt In this shot You’ll see that I’m kind of struggling with getting the extractor in a right angle to get the seats perfectly clean This is one of those opportunities where I highly recommend that if you’re doing any seat cleaning in your vehicle or a customer’s car To go ahead and remove the seats from the car itself. It gives you more room to work on the seat It also gives you the ability to see the seat in direct sunlight without any shadows So that way you’re making sure that you don’t miss any spots or stains that you wouldn’t have seen otherwise a common question I get is how long does a specific part of a detail take or Detail in general in this case doing cloth seats and cleaning them entirely front and back on a typical sedan you’re usually going to have to budget for about three to four hours and I say that because Usually it takes two passes if you’re removing the seats as well and the front and back seats, just take time And then you have to budget for time that it takes for them to dry before we return them to a customer Sometimes what can happen when you have like spots like this on the sides? It’s easier not to even use the extractor for it and just use something like you know Your Folex spray, and then your soft bristle brush Which I’ll show here Just because some of these tighter spots along the edges and around the airbag and any of this these seats and corners It’s easier just to use a spot treatment Instead of actually using an extractor to get them out I’m just using soft pressure using the bristle brush to skew in small circular motions letting the brush kind of do its work Now with just the clean microfiber cloth and a wipe the area to get any excessive product or dirt that’s on the surface And the nice thing about this process is it kind of shows you that you don’t need an expensive extractor You don’t need anything crazy to get stains out if you are working on your own car yourself Sometimes it just takes the right product and the right tool to get the job done The best part about going this way is you don’t use a ton of product and you don’t really saturate the surface as much So compared to an extractor or a different method where you’re actually saturating the fabric this way you don’t do it a ton So by doing that you also minimize your drying time, too Now the method of just using the Folex with the brush to agitate is more of a surface type treatment It will take a lot of the dirt in anything that is attached to the very top but if you have any deep embedded stains You’ll probably have to take a more aggressive Method with an extractor or with a spot type treatment and then followed up by an extractor again When it comes to the type of brush that I decided to pick when I clean cloth deceits is I always try to err on the side of caution and use a softer bristle brush at first and then if you have the opportunity to jump up to a more Aggressive brush that’s a little bit harder bristled and also larger that is one thing you can do but I always try to start out smaller and also with a Softer brush to see if I can get the job done first because you never know the age of the cloth seat You’ll never know if you’re going to start seeing pilling or you’re going to start seeing some abrasion to caused by your brush So I always try to err on the side of caution when I start out So after you’re done cleaning your seats I highly recommend just doing one more pass with your vacuum Not only does this give you the vacuum lines but it also allows you to get any dirt or anything that might have been introduced during the cleaning process or after but it also Allows you to remove any remaining liquid in the seat to decrease the time that it takes for it to dry And Here are the end results. It actually turned out amazing using both methods So if you don’t have an extractor Don’t sweat it You can simply use the Folex with a brush to agitate and then wipe off the surface and get just a good of a clean if you Just have surface dirt If you guys liked today’s video make sure you give this video a thumbs up leave a comment below of what video you guys want To see next and I will see you guys in my next video. Bye guys

  • Excellent stuff. I have leather in my Fpace and it's a nightmare to clean. I'd love to see how to clean leather and condition without the shine everywhere

  • Tip: after you used your extractor on a seat or Carpet, use your shop vac ( if it’s a wet vac ) and it’ll suck up a ton of extra water and the seat will be drier. Then use microfiber towel and wipe the seat down for extra dryness

  • Man I just tried detailing my own car (before discovering this channel) and now all I wanna do is tear my seats out and do it right! Totally getting a steam cleaner and an upholstery cleaner! You rule dude love your channel 👍

  • I detail cars for my dad it takes me 2 3 4 hours to finish the interior but it takes me 30 minutes to do the exterior

  • Like the videos but hate the techno music can you find something without words? That would be great 👍🏻

  • do u think spraying the seats with APC first then using the extractor with just plain warm water would give you good/faster results?

  • I would do the back of the seat first as dirty water will travel down to the seat. As for doing the seats with a soft brush , how long is that going to take you ?

  • I take the seats apart and throw the clothes liner into the washer. And let air dry. I then remove carpet and pressure wash. Also air dry. Afterwards I remove seat belts and replace with new set. Also replace mats with brand new mats. I later steam clean the roof liner and visors. After dry I reinstalled all parts. And replace cabin air filter.

  • You should clean a 2012 Silverado the cloth on these trucks are hard to clean for me would like for you to do it so i can clean mine

  • Don't pour the dirty water on your lawn. The chemicals will contaminate the groundwater. Even public drains end in your local rivers. It is for rain water only. Dispose the dirty water in your toilette for example so it can be cleaned by your local sewage treatment plant.

And don't use a lot of chemicals on your steering wheel. The last thing you want, is a slippery steering wheel.

  • Love to see how to do leather seats, im having problems with dye transfer on 2018 cadillac ct6 light tan seats

  • Just recently came upon your videos. I’ve been detailing a little over a year now and recently took a detailing position at a Mazda dealership. Your videos are super informative and helpful and I really appreciate it!! Planning on buying a few of the products you use…especially the steamer…that is such a game changer and will help me very much when I detail every day at work! Thanks much bro!

  • I guess I'm new to your channel, like others. You just popped up. Good info. I haven't watched alot so this might be a repeat. But how do you charge. Job or hour. It would be hard to time it.

  • After watching you to cleaned that landscapers Ford van I was impressed. I subscribed because I need to clean my VW Golf I bought recently. Thank you so much. Your vids are very easy to follow and clear.

  • So glad i subscribed to this channel very informative. I would definitely like to see how u clean an interior of a car that has shiny gloss black trim and chrome. Possibly a vehicle with 3 or more types of interior plastics and carbon fiber to show the difference in cleaning

  • Bro get a Mytee 80/70 I know it’s expensive but it totally changed my life when I upgraded to it. I used to use the bissel extractor but it took so long and it left the seats very moist. It doesn’t do a very good job of pulling out the fluid you are spraying.

  • can this method (both, i guess lol) work on stains that have been there for a while?? my Nephew let his chocolate (i think it’s chocolate) melt on my floorboard in the back of my car and i’m having the hardest time getting it out and i even paid someone to detail my car and they didn’t get it out 😞 awesome video!! deff gave me the motivation to get my car like new again

  • I have noticed that you clean the carpet and then the seats (for example those unremovable backseats in your family car). I usually start with the top and then I go down because every time something goes out of the seat and it ends up on the clean carpet – so I would have to vacuum it twice . You are doing good job 🙂

  • Is it safe to pour the dirty water with the chemicals in it into the environment (grass)? I am just curious how environment friendly the cleaners are?! Love your Videos 👍🏻

  • Could you make a tool/equipment video explaining which tools you use and the techniques to use said tools? Your detail videos are great, but it would be very helpful to have all the tools and tricks in one video. I haven’t watched all of your videos, so forgive me if you already have. Thanks for all the great videos.

  • When you cleaning the screw makes sure to put the screw in the Coca Cola so it’s easy to get rid of the rust

  • Normally I just power wash the seats and then dry them with the extractor it’s crazy u can get that stuff out with just the extractor

  • What do I have to do to get my car cleaned by you?! I have three kids who love apple juice and my car smells like a dumpster the last person who “detailed” it said they tried their best but the stains were too rough 🥺

  • well, i have 1 Question…..

does your Technique are doable on black color seat(cause mine is Black and boy the dust really Annoying to my eye.

  • I would love to know how to clean leather seats? I had a seat cover on my driver side for months and then when I took it off it left a bad yellow stain all over. I need help.

  • What's the name of the stain remover product? What led you to find it and fine it's the best thsn ANY other product you've used in the past?

  • I have a carpet shampooed that has hand wand. It looks similar to the wand you were using. Don't know the difference between machines tho.

  • Please don’t ever pour that dirty water into your yard or storm drain again. Eventually it will end up in your drinking water!

  • These videos are so satisfying. I have a newer car but my seats are so gross. It’s a 18 Chevy equinox. I feel like it has like water resistants or I’m not sure the material. Anyways I have 2 young daughters and my seats are horrible. I’d love to watch a newer car interior, IF you could find one with some stains. It makes it worse because they are duel colored black on the outside and light gray in the inside. I hate it.

  • I spilled detergent on the floor of my car and now it's all and stained hard. Would this method still work?

  • Can you please do a video about getting grease stains out of seats and carpets? My boyfriend is a mechanic and has totally ruined the inside of my car.

  • Question , you have a lot of how to clean for fabric interiors but my car isn't necessarily fabric and definitely not leather or vinyl, how would I go about cleaning that?

  • Omg I just learned that you have this channel I love your family’s videos! I’m glad I found this channel, I have an older car and it needs a deep clean so I will be doing this to it

  • 🤷‍♂️when Stauffer takes 3-4 hours on seats and the company you work for as a detailer tells you that they want you to complete a full detail in that time frame.

  • With the Folex carpet cleaner, can you use that on dark interior as well? This stuff worked really well and is probably what I need to try out!

  • I am so glad I found your channel it has motivated me too to clean our cars. Need to pick up some chemical guys products. +Stauffer Garage

  • Have you ever deep cleaned your cloth seats? Definitely recommend the Folex and brush method first before buying an extractor!
